Festival of Europe 2013 in Bois-le-Roi
Friends in Paris and Ile-de-France: if you happen to cross the Festival of Europe 2013 in Bois-le-Roi this weekend (18-19 May 2013), you will find me singing the traditional songs (regilaul) with some friends in the Estonian tent! Whoot!
Like that kind:
snowfish and raindeer
once upon a time
there lived a snowfish and a raindeer
they wanted to be best friends, but alas!
there was no way they could be
at the same time at the same place
because when snowfish was feeling good and cold,
then the raindeer feared to be frozen
and when the weather was good for the raindeer,
the snowfish started to melt…
they could only meet
for a moment in the wind
and gaze longingly into each other’s eyes
then again in haste they would have to part
raindeer crying rainbows
and snowfish with his frozen heart

These vegetated surfaces don’t just look pretty. They have other benefits as well, including cooling city blocks, reducing loud noises, and improving a building’s energy efficiency. What’s more, a recent modeling study shows that green walls can potentially reduce large amounts of air pollution in what’s called a “street canyon,” or the corridor between tall buildings.
For the study, Thomas Pugh, a biogeochemist at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany, and his colleagues created a computer model of a green wall with generic vegetation in a Western European city. Then they recorded chemical reactions based on a variety of factors, such as wind speed and building placement.
The simulation revealed a clear pattern: A green wall in a street canyon trapped or absorbed large amounts of nitrogen dioxide and particulate matter—both pollutants harmful to people, said Pugh. Compared with reducing emissions from cars, little attention has been focused on how to trap or take up more of the pollutants, added Pugh, whose study was published last year in the journal Environmental Science & Technology.
That’s why the green-wall study is “putting forward an alternative solution that might allow [governments] to improve air quality in these problem hot spots,” he said.Compared with reducing emissions from cars, little attention has been focused on how to trap or take up more of the pollutants, added Pugh, whose study was published last year in the journal Environmental Science & Technology.

have you ever felt like you give it all but you get nothing back? or you give in too easily because you suddenly don’t believe that you deserve only the very best?
having heard some of my friends’ stories and adding my own life, i suddenly found this song from my mind.
and after waiting for a second verse to come for a couple of days, and then for another verse and what not… i suddenly understood that this song wants to be out there, now. maybe it’s still open; maybe it can still change, but… the message is here. i hope you feel related, any of you who might listen to this.
and always remember: you deserve the best; you deserve what you decide is the best for you. you deserve respect and sincerity. you deserve to be loved for you. if you believe you deserve sincerity, then never take any less than sincerity, and so on. but be forgiving… sometimes people need a little time to learn. yet, if they don’t want to learn, let them go.

The only way to deal with an un-free world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion. - Albert Camus
only you know what makes you smile
only you know who’s worth your while
and there’s nothing i can say
and nothing i can do
there’s only one who has the answers -
that is you
[just now. gonna be new song, maybe]
Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.
- Dr. Seuss
